OTG is creating a unique outdoor experience that leverages our generation’s enthusiasm for running to create a deeper appreciation for nature, holistic living, better habits and community.
It’s sometimes challenging to change your habits when you have all the comforts and trappings of a busy, stressful urban life. The OTG experience is built to take people to a natural and inspiring setting in Northern Ontario to unplug them from their daily grind for a weekend of recharging and re-inspiring. Our team includes leaders, experts and mentors in running, fitness, yoga, meditation, holistic nutrition and lifestyle. Our collective background in business, social projects, events, retreats and corporate partnership gives us a unique perspective and track record to accomplish our goals and leave a legacy for years to come.
Our goal is to knock down the most typical and obstacles to the process of a healthy sustainable lifestyle. The strategy we have taken in the past can be summed up in the “Three-Ss”
When adopting a more healthy lifestyle, people often don’t know where to begin. OTG provides a starting point to engage in a more sustainable healthy lifestyle.
A lot of young people don’t have the proper tools or guidance to choose a better life for themselves. OTG provides leadership & mentorship through expert instructions, mentors and workshops designed to help achieve physical goals safely in the most fun way possible.
Changing unhealthy habits is not a solo process, in our experience as athletes, coaches and group leaders, we know that you need people around you to help through the challenging times and self-doubt. Our programming focuses on building community over the course of a weekend that will be maintained long after through social media, emails, run groups and events in the city, helping to leave a legacy of positive habits and appreciation for outdoor activities.
CHANGING THE LANDSCAPE
It’s sometimes challenging to change your habits when you have all the comforts and trappings of a busy, stressful urban life. The OTG experience is built to take people to a natural and inspiring setting to unplug them from their daily grind for a weekend of recharging and re-inspiring.
Running is the focal point for OTG. The activity is accessible to all and easy to continue when back home. We will have daily runs through the beautiful trail systems and scenic roads along with workshops on various aspects of health, nutrition, meditation, fitness, stress reduction and lots of social bonding time.
Having strong leadership and great examples is crucial to our programming. There will be classes & workshops in all the necessary lifestyle elements that help support running, but more importantly a healthy life. These will feature sessions in Yoga, Holistic Nutrition, Meditation and Mobility.
Between runs and workshops, we will spend time at the fresh water pond, hiking to beautiful waterfalls, eating organic meals, laughing over bonfires and visiting the animals on Woodfield. These moments help to connect us to the land and most importantly ourselves as runners and people. Building these relationships is vital for the continued pursuit of an active outdoors based lifestyle.
The OTG weekend is meant to serve as a self-contained experience, but more importantly a catalyst for a sustainable lifestyle supported by our community & shared values. We will keep our participants connected through the use of social media, run meet-ups in the city and events throughout the year.
